Picket Fences- a poem

I had written this a few months ago...I think I shared it with a few Facebook friends, but wanted to add it to my blog to share with more people.

A story book world, the small town dream
Things are not always as they seem

Innocence is an easy thing to take away
We are all born with it, but it gets lost along the way

Beautiful, intelligent, a heart filled with sadness
Constantly being drowned by the madness

The road to success is not always easy
Life is filled with too many people and things which are sleazy

People seem to assume it’s a one sided story
Praising from what they know and giving glory

You may think that one person has it all
But who are you to really make that call?

In life so many are judged from a one sided stance
Never giving the past a true glance

A suburban dream she lights up the room each day
But few know the price she had to pay

Call her naïve, crazy and stupid
She’s been harmed by the hand she thought was cupid

No one to go to, no where to turn
She survived on her own a lesson learned

Years and years went by and no one understood
On the outside she had it all but on the inside she was no good

So today if someone who seems to have it all struts into your life
Think long and hard before picking up that judgmental knife

Matter it not education, money or the small town dream
Things are not always as they seem

So next time you think someone has it all
Make sure you take the time to stall

And remember…

Sometimes the worst things in life are surrounded by picket fences

Why are people praising Ashley Dupre??

Does anyone else find it disturbing that Ashley Dupre is becoming a mini celebrity for being a call girl?? How on earth does this woman deserve her own column at the New York Post?? I think she is a terrible example for young girls. We all make mistakes in life and deserve a second chance, but it seems that respected media outlets consider her talented enough to give expert advice. What qualifications does she have?? I think it's a sad world we live in when getting caught banging a politician for money gives someone the chance to get their songs played on the radio and more. I just saw an interview between her and Geraldo--he was asking for her opinion on popular topics. Who cares what she thinks? It's just frustrating to know that impressionable young girls are seeing the attention that this woman has gotten. Sorry just had to vent. Resume your regularly schedulded Sunday night activities.

Freaks, Geeks and more. My top five unconventional Hollywood hotties.

Hi blog friends. Sorry I have been neglecting my blog. Been very busy focused on more serious writing projects (boo serious!). One of my goals for 2010 is definitely to devote more time to my fun blog (what is the point of the internet existing if we can't write about useless junk? right?).

Anyway, today I am going to pay tribute to my favorite unconventional Hollywood hotties. Sure, every woman thinks men like Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise scream 'sex'. But there are tons of other actors out there portraying freaks, geeks and more. Even though they don't fit the conventional definition of sexy, they're still exciting many women around the globe.

My five favorite unconventional Hollywood hotties:

5. Michael Imperioli

Michael has a big nose, is kind of greasy looking and possibly needs his eyebrows waxed, but nonetheless, he turns me on. In The Sopranos he treated Adrianna like crap, but yet he continues to captivate me. The role made him sexy in a bad boy sort of way.

4. Kevin Spacey

Kevin has played an alien, a serial killer, a borderline pervert and many other not so appealing roles. However, there is something about the charm of his acting that keeps me coming back for more. He's almost so unsexy, that it makes him sexy. Kevin may play a lot of weirdos, but he's my weirdo. Go on with your bad self Kevin and keep picking obscure roles, the ladies will stay lined up no matter what.

3. Kevin James

He's a little dorky and a little pudgy in King of Queens and hit movies such as Mall Cop.
But Kevin's charm allows him to work his way into the hearts of women everywhere. Humor can go a long way and his humor makes him sexy. People can call me a chubby chaser for crushing on Kevin James and I'll gladly chase away. He's like a cute teddy bear.

2. Jamie Kennedy

Jamie Kennedy won my heart back in 1996 staring as Randy Meeks, the dorky, movie loving nerd in the hit movie Scream. If I were Sidney I would have left Billy Loomis in the dust and gone after Randy immediately, but I digress. His character's charm and green hush puppies immediately caught my eye and he has been one of my celebrity crushes ever since. They say that the geek never gets the girl, but in Jamie's case that's not true: he's now dating the extremely beautiful Jennifer Love-Hewitt. Nerds need love too ladies!

1. Hugh Laurie

Okay, okay...before you try to judge my crush on Mr. Laurie just hear me out. There are tons of women secretly in lust with "Dr. House" all around you. On the show, he may be sarcastic, commanding and sneaky, but in the end it's a huge turn on. There is something about a man who combines humor and brain power. Every week when Hugh stars as Doctor Gregory House, he solves difficult medical problems and makes women everywhere go into to cardiac arrest with his one of a kind personality. If Lisa Cuddy doesn't get with the program soon and hook up with House, I can find you a ton of women who would gladly take her place.
